Fuck, I didn’t think anyone would click on this, usually people just look at our instagram posts and don’t go to the site. I’ve seen our web traffic and it’s not great. This is gonna be so embarrassing for me if someone actually reads this…

A month before this show I reached out to the band's publicist, Chris Vinyard, that's his real name, you can look him up if you want to. I wrote a long email how much I liked American Football in high school, how much they meant to me, and how I'd seen them multiple times. He responded saying he liked the site and he could get us free tickets and a photo pass for their Austin concert. God he was so nice and I totally let him down.

I genuinely spent weeks dreaming about taking photos of my favorite band. Finally the day came and I arrived early to get a good spot. Once the lights went down I was able to snap a single blurry photograph and then my camera died. Literally one single photo and that was it. I did not have any backup batteries and had no other way to document the concert. I didn’t even bring my phone because i was trying to live in the moment. God I’m an idiot.

To make matters worse I bragged to the people in the crowd around me that I was a big shot photographer for a cool music website and it really impressed them. I had to then pretend to take photos for the entire concert so they wouldn’t know I was lying. I held the camera up and made a clicking noise with my mouth to sound like the camera shuttering. To be completely honest I didn’t even pay attention to the music cause I was so focused on how much of a fraud I was. After the show I went back to my car and had a parking ticket on my windshield. I cried on the drive home.

Since then Chris keeps emailing asking about the photos and how the band really wants to see them. Instead of coming clean I doubled down and said the photos looked incredible and I’d be sending them soon. I don't know why i said that, i was nervous. I’m praying he never sees this, please for the love of god don’t send this to him.
